Adventures In Sane Comics are part of Conscience And Nonsense Magazine and can be enjoyed by clicking on the link below. Follow the adventures of Steve, Professor Conscience and Little Devil Nonsense as they seek guidance from Pastor Brown in order to avoid going crazy and spending an uncle’s inheritance. Billy Bob lends a Southern flavor to the mix, while Candy hails from one of America’s Hispanic neighbors nearby. Steve’s girlfriend is a real witch named Hannah, who just needs him to listen to magical reason. The aliens from the planet Phunetune are also trying to figure out their place in this wacky world of weird wonder.
Life’s Adventures Can Be Overwhelming
You see, these characters are part of one man’s work to live well and educate others about what it means to be mentally disabled in the Twenty-First Century. Originally called “Conscience and Shmonshuntz,” a name no one could pronounce or spell, the comic turned into a magazine called “Conscience And Nonsense,” and the comic was given the name it has today.
As you explore the magazine, you will find a mission of advocacy mixed in with an acknowledgement that the advocate who acts as an activist needs to take a break and have some leisure.
Many of us are working for a cause. Adventures In Sane creator Nathan Hyatt’s cause is better understanding, treatment and acceptance of the mentally different and neurodivergent. (We don’t like the term “mentally ill.”)
There are lots of other causes to work for and, of course, we don’t all agree on what is to be done. But hopefully we can take a break and laugh at ourselves and each other while reaching better understanding.
